A New Year
A new year has started. This is my first project as an 4th year game art student. The subject of this two-week project is to make a realistic exterior render in Arnold. Arnold is a render function in Maya and 3ds Max 2018. I started with Maya for the first couple of days to make the best out of it. After a lot of attempts with it I realized I didn’t get any more progress with the program. So, I switched to 3ds max because it has the same potential as Maya but is a little harder to use.

I had some fun on using the program. Trying to make the materials pretty and so realistic as possible. I had some struggles with it as well. I hoped on creating something a little more realistic, but I’m still happy with the results.
How I started
I started this project with gathering some models which I made a couple of weeks ago for another project. I hadn't unwrapped them at that point so that was the first thing I went to do. After that I made a little composition of my scene after that I worked on some of the textures and so on.
Arnold
Arnold is a render function in Max and Maya and I love it till this point. It works a little bit easier than the other renderers with a higher realistic result. Applying the materials was nice. I got a lot of the textures for external sources and edited them in Quixel or Crazy bump.
After some of the test renders I rendered it in different kind of layers and edited it in photoshop. to try and achieve a little more realistic feel to the entire piece.
